Memory Support Programs in the Philadelphia Area
Our Memory Support programs focus on the special needs of those residents who are cognitively impaired and have memory loss of varying degrees. CHCS homes distinguish themselves as facilities known for the special care of residents with Alzheimer's and related disorders and dementias.
Staff assigned to work with the cognitively impaired is required to undergo special training and education in the care of persons with dementia. Training includes topics that help them understand and manage some of unique challenges associated with dementia care such as special communication techniques and problem-solving.
CHCS ensures a safe and secure environment for residents of Memory Support programs. Careful attention is given to provision of secure access to outdoor areas, proper lighting and special color and design in the resident environment. Appropriate therapeutic recreational activities are planned that residents can engage in that will reduce agitation and anxiety. All services and programs respect the individual's right to be treated with dignity, while honoring their sense of self-worth and self-esteem.
